Every Piece of Tech Android Users Need For Their Phone
Last month we brought together all the bits and pieces you need for your iPhone. We figured that this time round we should show the love to the Android side of things. I recently smashed my old Nexus 5 when I dropped it on the pavement during one of our lovely Auckland downpours. This sent me on a quest for a replacement as well as a little gear to go along with my new baby.
The perfect replacement is the Samsung S8, which has the premium build quality as well as all the grunt we’ll ever need in a phone. Stats wise it’s a massive 5.8inch curved screen, 4GB of ram, 64GB of storage, microSD slot, 3000mAh battery with wireless and fast charging, USB type C, headphone jack, 12 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front camera, Iris and finger print scanner, and it’s also water proof. Because apparently I spend a lot of my life getting rained on.
Belkin 27W USB-C Car Charger + USB-C Cable, RRP$84.95
Next up you’re going to need the USB-C Car Charger, for when we’re not on the bus with those new USB charger slots. It comes with a spare USB-C cable, which is perfect because you can never have too many of those things. Before I made the switch to USB-C I swear my Micro-USB cables were constantly disappearing.
Belkin BOOST↑UP Wireless Charging Pad, RRP $119.95
With this lack of cables weighing on me I decided I wasn’t going to thrash the Samsung’s USB-C plug every night so I opted for a wireless charging pad. It takes the fuss out of fumbling with cables at night and it looks damn futuristic as well.
Belkin MIXIT↑TM Duratek Micro-USB to USB Cable, RRP $39.95
While I was on the binge I picked up the Duratek Micro-USB to USB Cable, because I still have plenty of stuff that requires Micro-USB. The cable is made out of Kevlar, so presumably it can withstand bullet, I won’t be testing that theory though. As long as it can handle a cat chewing on it I should be fine.
