Negate the Nap

No matter how exhausted you are during the day, taking a nap can take away the ability to rest easy at night. Try drinking ice water, taking a walk, or making a phone call to a friend. If you must doze, keep it to 20 minutes, and do it early, not close to bedtime.

Alternatively, if you find yourself wanting a nap during the day, it may be because you’re not sleeping properly at night. This could be due to a number of reasons like your sleeping temperature or the quality of your mattress.

Create a Routine

If you go to bed and wake up at different times every day, it can be difficult to get into a routine. You may also find that a ritual procedure to prepare for bed eases your mind so that you are ready as your head hits the pillow. Keep a schedule so that you build a proper circadian rhythm – a bodily clock – that reflects the sleep you want to get.
